The latest iteration of Starbucks’ job verification system has been delayed.
The company announced in a tweet today that it has received more than 8 million responses from customers, who were asked to confirm their employment status.
The problem, as reported by The Verge, is that the system is still not as accurate as it could be.
While it may have been the case that the company had to wait for more than a week, customers may have waited longer.
“We received nearly 8 million job submissions this morning,” the company tweeted.
“As we’ve said before, the system has not yet been completely tested and validated.
The team has been working closely with the U.S. Labor Department to address the issues.”
The Verge notes that it’s not clear whether or not the company will be able to update the system in time for the holidays, but given the timing, we’d expect to see a quick update.
We’ll update you with more details as they become available.
