Google has said it will hire around 100,00 new employees this year in an effort to meet its growth targets.
The announcement comes a day after Google said it would start hiring workers in the US, the UK and Australia.
The search giant said it is hiring around 1,500 more employees a month in order to meet the company’s target of 20,000 new employees a year by the end of this year.
“We are very excited to announce that we will be hiring a total of 1,501 employees this quarter,” Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said in a statement.
“This is a big deal for our business and we are committed to creating a more efficient and inclusive workforce for years to come.”
The company also said it had hired around 100 workers in India, the United States and Australia, bringing the total to 1,505, the statement said.
Google said it has hired around 3,000 people in the past year.
Earlier this month, the company said it planned to increase its workforce by 40,000 over the next two years.
Google announced last month that it was hiring over 100,0000 employees worldwide.
