Georgias unemployment rate rose to 7.4% in March, the lowest since July 2011, according to a report by the Bureau of Labour Statistics.
The rate fell from 7.6% in February and March, but is still well above the national average of 7.1%.
The BLS data was released on Thursday.
It showed the U.S. unemployment rate at 7.7% in January and 7.9% in April.
It was down from 8.0% in December, and 7% in July.
The job market has been getting more and more difficult for the average American in recent years.
The unemployment rate peaked in December 2009 at 10.1%, and is now at 9.6%.
